Using the Miracast/Wireless Display feature

Android phones and Smart TVs have Miracast or Wireless Display features. The naming depends on the brand, but the function is the same, namely connecting the two devices ( mobile phone  (HP) and TV).

1. Activate the Miracast/Wireless Display feature on the TV

The first step when connecting an android phone to a TV is the initial setup. Connect the two devices by activating the Miracast/Wireless Display feature. Here's how by TV brand:

Samsung Smart TV

  • On the remote control press the Source . button
  • Select Screen Mirroring
  • The TV will scan other devices for connections. Scan time 2 minutes
  • Immediately activate Miracast on your cellphone or tablet before 2 minutes runs out

LG Smart TV

  • On the remote control press Home
  • Select Network
  • Click Miracast, turn it on or "ON" it
  • The TV will scan, immediately activate Miracast on your cellphone or tablet

Sony Smart TV

  • On the remote control press the Input button
  • Use the up-down buttons to select Screen Mirroring, then press OK
  • The TV is in stand-by position and waiting for connection from a smartphone or tablet device

2. Settings on Android

After the Miracast/Wireless Display feature on the tv is active, the next step is to make settings on the cellphone. Same with TV, for Android HP settings are also different. Here's how:

Samsung

  • Drag the Quick Settings window (swipe from top to bottom)
  • Look for the Smart View menu, in that window
  • Then click to activate
  • (If you don't find the Smart View menu, you can directly download it  on the PlayStore)

Xiaomi

  • Open the Settings menu
  • Then select the Connect & Sharing menu
  • Select the Cast menu option and enable the toggle
  • After a pop up appears asking you to activate the Bluetooth and WiFi connection, click Turn On
  • HP will scan automatically, then select the TV to connect

Oppo

  • Open Settings then select the Other Wireless Connection menu
  • Select and enable the Multi-screen Interaction/Wireless Display toggle
  • After that select the TV to be connected

Vivo

  • Open the Settings menu on the HP
  • Look for the Wi-Fi Display menu then activate Screen Mirroring
  • After that select the TV to be connected
