Skin aging is a natural process that occurs with age. However, without us realizing it, there are some habits that can make you look older than your age should be. So, try to avoid these habits to get healthy and glowing skin.

In addition, consuming food or drink can also threaten the health of your skin . In other words, a healthy lifestyle is very important for healthy skin.

It can not only make you live longer but also make you look younger. As reported by the News18 page, here are some bad habits that can make your skin look older.

1. Smoking

It is a known fact that smoking affects all organs of the body. But it turns out, there is a less common side effect of speeding up the normal aging process of the skin, leading to premature wrinkling.

Smoking increases inflammation in the body, thereby destroying the skin's collagen and elastin proteins , leading to sagging and wrinkling of the skin at an early age.

2. Stress

In addition to causing insomnia, depression, anxiety, even Alzheimer's, stress can also accelerate the aging process. Stress causes inflammation in the body, which damages various parts of the body including skin fibers. This makes the skin look dull and lifeless. Stress also damages the body's cell structure, which causes premature cell aging.

(In many literatures it is mentioned, alcohol can make the skin age quickly, because alcohol will deplete vitamins A and C in the body. Minerals in the body that play a role in fighting the aging process will also be depleted when you drink alcoholic beverages. Photo: Illustration/ )

3. Alcohol

Alcohol consumption not only increases triglyceride levels in the body, smooth, and wrinkles at an early age. Alcohol consumption makes these signs of aging deepen over time.

Alcohol dehydrates the body and also depletes vitamin A, which is essential for keeping skin firm and youthful. Alcohol makes the skin dry , thus making it look dull and lifeless.

4. Sunlight display

Continuous exposure of the skin to the sun's ultraviolet rays can damage the skin's elastic fibers. The skin's elastic fibers help keep the skin firm.

When they are damaged, the skin begins to wrinkle and sag. Continuous sun exposure also causes age spots (otherwise known as dark spots) on the face, hands, and other areas exposed to the sun. Apply sunscreen on your hands and face before stepping out in the sun.

5. Lack of sleep

Continuous lack of sleep can not only cause dark circles on the eyes, but also other signs of aging such as dark spots and fine lines, much earlier than expected.

Lack of sleep not only causes premature skin aging but also decreases the skin's ability to fight off the harmful rays of the sun. One should sleep at least seven hours a day to keep the body healthy

6. Lack of exercise

Exercising regularly improves blood circulation in the body, thus making the skin look radiant. Research has shown that regular exercise helps people age slowly and lead healthier and more energetic lives.

A study at the University of Birmingham, UK, concluded that people who exercise regularly show fewer signs of aging than those who don't.
