17 Jan 07 Lots of freewares, and a way to read Open Office documents in your Symbian (at least if you are geek enought)

In the nokia Open Source portal, there is a port of the Python scripting language for S60 devices (this means that you can run it on your N80 too )

but the best thing, is that you do not need to know how to program in python to use it, there are lots of freeware applications already written for you enjoy …

Here is a small list:

• nA Cell Tax Tracker This small application get your current cell phone costs from supported telecommunication providers over a short message. It allows you to analyse your costs and get statistics. Written in python for S60.
• PyS60Remote This set of programs enables you to use a Series 60 mobile phone to control your win32 PC. The two devices connect via Bluetooth. Mainly suitable as a wireless presenter or remote for your video player.
• EasyEdit 1.44 for 3rd Ed
• Fupper is a Flickr upload tool for PyS60. It also includes a full FlickrAPI implementation that is based on Beej’s Python FlickrAPI.
• OpenOffice (odt) reader .. a basic ODT reader using pyexpat port of pys60. Supports basic formating: bold, underline, etc. and text colors
• Tetris Lost code for Tetris has been reposted in the Forum at last
• EasyEdit : a full-featured, simple, intuitive text editor by chetbox.
• PyS60 Python editor 1.03 new editor for editing your scripts on your phone. application and source code v1.03
• pyED : Python Editor for Series 60 is an sourceforge project for creating an open source Python source code editor, written in Python by CyKe64, for Series 60. Once you have Python for Series 60 installed on your phone, pyed enables you to edit your scripts directly from your phone. Very cool!
• client ShoutCAST for pys60 Source code is under Creative commons licence. Now you can listen radio on internet (MP3) and also Real Audio if you have real audio playerHelix !
• RemoteCamera A script to take photos and FTP them to a server of your choice.

There are many more apps out there, and if you are a programmer like myself you can create your own apps …
